About Me

The Niemela Family

I started this blog for a college class project, but I am enjoying it so much, it will most definately extend well beyond the end of the semester!  I am very excited to share my endless supply of recipes.  Many will come from a family cookbook I published with the help of my family, "408 Magnolia Lane - A Torola Family Cookbook".  I must clarify that most of the recipes are not "mine", but were contributed by many friends and family members that are as passionate about food as I am.  Cooking to satisfy the varying tastes of 6 children and a husband can be a challenge, so most of my recipes lean toward the down-home everyday type of cooking that I grew up on.  Occasionally I may step outside the box and throw in a recipe with an ingredient or two that I can't pronounce, and a dish that my kids wouldn't touch. No matter what the ingredients, you will know it is a recipe filled with enjoyment!  Thank you for visiting my blog, and I welcome your comments.

Received a tip about your blog from your sister Tricia who is a friend of mine! I miss her so much since she moved to Florida. She did give me your famous cookbook before she left. :) Looking forward to trying some of these great recipes. Starting with Mexican curry tonight!
